That's really interesting, I am even more eager to arrive at home to check that out.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

Thanks! If you hit any rough edges getting it running, tell me I’ll fix the docs/scripts.

Why TUI apps in particular?

Another of those? Can people install their OS without having to tell the whole planet about it?

I don't see articles about people installing Windows or Mac everyday like the people installing Linux.

Is it such an achievement to do? That make you proud enough to tell the world?

It's worse than vegetarian people at that point.

And what's the point? The whole thread is filled with "yeah yeah, I installed Linux too!" just like some kind of cult.

Look at you...

Misery loves company. You won't see anybody telling people to switch to Windows, Mac or iPhone because those people are too busy enjoying their OS.

Not really, Linux evangelists are a thing because Linux is primarily held back by lack of adoption. A lot of common issues can be attributed to either:

1. The hardware manufacturer has never tested Linux support for drivers. 2. Some application that you need doesn't target Linux due to lack of users

This isn't everything, sure. But I think it's a majority of the headaches. Thus, Linux-users really want other people to also use Linux, so that companies actually give a shit about supporting it.

There's also the whole ideology involved. A lot of companies are increasingly pushing that you are not allowed to control the computer/phone/device you buy and Linux is at the forefront of combating this.

I don't think Linux itself is held back by lack of adoption at all. Android is the most popular mobile operating system in the world, last I checked. My dad doesn't know the difference between dir and ls, and he will only use an Android phone.

I would rather hug a fully grown crocodile than install Linux on my computer. But even I wouldn't deny that Android - and by extension Linux - is probably the best thing that happened to mobile devices.

Desktop Linux is lacking in adoption, but maybe that's because it's not packaged nearly as nicely as Android.

All those people are on the drug they got on the cheap during the fun party nights.

They are, or soon will be, surprised that the price is going to increase, and they are the only losers in that great story of theirs...

Was it the drug that killed River Phoenix, or the one that Edmund Hillary had in his veins ascending Everest?

Greek philosophers pondered that question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ijx_tT5lCDY

OMG I got this reference before I even clicked. Bravo. (we're old)

When I see comment saying that onedrive confusing, and that people are having problems with it, I always wonder if the "hacker" crowd is really the "hacker" type they want to portrait themselves, or just inexperienced computer users bitching on Microsoft for internet points.

OneDrive is an easy and well integrated cloud drive. The principle of having a cloud drive is not new anymore, and I believe people should get over the fact that, indeed, the files on the cloud drive is... In the cloud; colour me surprised!

I use codeberg

Why do I get a spinning "waiting" on every page? That doesn't seem "clean" to me... That's supposed to be raw HTML with a search.

It's cluttered with how to put your HTML character in your HTML, while being supposedly focused for devs...

All that doesn't make sense to me.

Not that I approve the Debian decision here, but calling it "classic" seems a bit of a stretch?

Do you have many more examples to call that a "classic" Debian security behaviour?

I believe it's an effort to promote Linux, to get more market share.

Linux users aren't interested to see potential adopters go for BSD instead of joining their ranks.

On every forum, every discussion, there is at least one guy saying he runs that game on Linux, or that other OS is somehow inferior to Linux, or this problem would never happen on Linux...

It's all about marketing, if you will...

I think it is just trolls and fanboys who want to troll really.

There is fanboyism on every OS, pretty much like soccer fans or religious zealots.
