What makes the article even worse is The Economist's policy of hiding the author(s) name(s).

The name is always a giveaway of their agenda.

The Middle East is being called West Asia these day.

South Asia is another new invention.

No one goes around saying "I'm a South Asian."

As for terminology, especially when it comes to geography and geopolitics, it depends on who's using the term and what their agenda of the day is.

Gulf of Mexico comes to mind.

"south asia" is the area thats in-between the gulf cooperation council and asean?

theres no south east asian or east asian person either...

Market cap is just a metric of people's expectations on that company.

It's relatively meaningless unless a transaction on stock takes place.

Imagine if everyone holding shares of the top 8 companies decided to sell them simultaneously. That market cap wouldn't last the evening.

It's pointless trying to educate the wilfully ignorant.

We gave up on you guys a long time ago: told your Dad to leave you behind a bush but he was a good Dad so, lucky you! Our bad.

I have no idea what you're trying to say.

Unlikely.

Silicon Valley is great for innovating new "intellectual property," but they don't manufacture any real products any more.

China has entire cities which not only can develop IP, but they have the entire ecosystem collocated.

Catching up with them will be expensive and will need focus. Focus is not something the current president seems to excel in.

Indeed it is. Madeline Albright admitted in an interview that at least 500,000 children died but "it was worth it."

The total toll must have been much higher.

I've shared your post with a friend at Apple.

In the past people have emailed Tim Cook directly - his email id is fairly easy to find.

Edit: "I have escalated this through my many friends in WWDR and SRE at Apple, with no success."

This doesn't bode well.

Mr. Fart warned us about this: https://medium.com/@blakeross/mr-fart-s-favorite-colors-3177...

One day the engineers will try their best to fix things, but get stopped by management satisfied by high-nines logic. If anyone is falling through the cracks, it's bad customer support.

This bodes poorly indeed.

This comment should be among the top voted contributions to this submission for everyone to see.

WWDR stands for World-Wide Developer Relations and SRE stands for Site Reliability Engineering.

Sounds like a good plan to improve the tourism industry of other countries.

It's a win-win, the way I see it.

We offload the riffraff onto other countries, and they get a minor bump in GDP.

with riffraff you mean.. what exactly? All tourists?

His boss' posts on Truth Social should be in Comic Sans.

Just remember that when the CERN announced they finally could prove the existence of the Higgs boson, they did it using Comic Sans

https://blog.scottlogic.com/2012/07/05/the-higgs-boson-comic...

To be honest, in the official papers they did not use it for either CMS or ATLAS.

If Trump finds out he'll start "truthing" in Comic Sans and expecting a Nobel Prize in Physics.
