That only applies in an apples-to-apples comparison, i.e., same data structures, same algorithm, etc.
You can't compare sorting in C and Python, but use bubble sort in C and radix sort in Python.
In here there are different data structures being used.

You're right of course but it also depends on how long you want to spend on it. If Python gives you radix sort directly and the C implementation you can have with the same time is bubble sort because you spent much time setting up the project and finding the right libs it kinda makes sense.
It was done deliberately in the USSR, in a process known as Underground Coal Gasification. Oxygen and steam are injected to convert the coal to syngas (CO + H2) which is brought up to the surface. This allows exploitation of coal deposits that are not suitable for conventional mining.
Also a comparison to Chernobyl (which no one would ever think they were anywhere near related.). Clearly the author wanted to communicate “something” more than the interesting takeover by nature.
I would agree that the root cause analysis of these two disasters is pretty different, and not super related to capitalism. But I don't think they were really trying to push that connection.
All of these “go back to handcoding” posts seem to be done by very experienced coders. The fact that a less than mediocre coder like me can have sql statements or Python ETL written and tested for me in seconds rather than hours is all I need to see.
1) Testing for myself 2) Vibe code testing 3) Team members do work from scratch and try to break 4) can read and reason it out even if I come out with it myself.
As my family's tech support department, i switched them over to linux long ago. For the last decade, my elderly parents used linux laptops and much prefered the stability.
Exactly the kind of whiny blogger I don’t want using Proton products with his squeaky wheel nonsense. Move over to Tutanova or go back to Gmail. What a trivial thing to whine about.
I have two Verizon phones on very different networks and both have not been working well since Tuesday - anyone also having this? I kept restarting my phones, airplane mode on/off etc
Music is big for me - there are some good lists on YouTube.
Taking a few steps forward on something help me get over the initial paralysis. Get people to help you need priorities. I constantly check in with bosses to ensure I’m doing the most important thing.
Interesting about sleep, I definitely feel most productive in the morning after a solid night of sleep.
It has its downsides but a constant comment/compliment I get from friends how much I get done with my limited time. I have to always be doing something that consumes my attention or I’ll go nuts. I can’t watch sports for example because all the constant stops and starts make me lose my attention and go somewhere else.
