So, from you experience, what were the main show stoppers for the startups that you had the chance to see/observe?


Building things that nobody was waiting for without a sound businessplan. Grossly underestimating required technical knowledge and investment being a close second.


I’ve heard google has an alpha version of this for internal use only.

From time to time they let it run loose to clean up their products.


We were going to adopt it but after internal discussions, we’re worried they’ll euthanize it after 22 months. We’re pivoting.

Based on some comments in this post and the posted article, it seems we are assisting to a power shift, I wonder who will replace the US and how long will it take.

What makes you think that it wont reverse? Look at what is happening to the chip wars between Us, EU and China, and the energy crisis in Europe.

My thought is that we are witnessing the beginning of the end of globalization.


That happens every time an empire declines. The Roman empire had a globalized economy, and that ended up collapsing into the medieval period of hyper-localization. The collapse of the Dutch and British empires had similar results. The American empire is collapsing now, and globalization is the first casualty.

Fun fact: Victorian England even had several very successful uber-like businesses (phone ordering aggregators in this case).

Even in India people use FAANG where 3 of these are missing. It’s become an equivalent now of top payers who are also stable employers.
