I sure liked the first half of this title.

But the second half of this title makes it an article worth forwarding to co-workers ;-)

> coffee consumption within the NHS recommended limit

yup it's true, and as some point out, consumption in the early morning, when we all get a proinflammatory, normal response, is perfect timing for the antioxidant flood of coffee to counteract it all.

The rest of the day is another story, every day! Hopefully one of the better stories.

I've been starting days with a bowl 2/3rds full of frozen blueberries (microwaved 2mins to soften) plus greek yogurt and a dash of maple syrup.

It's a lot of blueberries. But I can afford $60/month in frozen blueberries. Plus they're tasty. Also antioxidants or whatever.

That was my routine for a few years to ward off huntington’s disease. I don’t think the science panned out for blueberries and huntington’s, but in the mean time I got old enough to realize I didn’t have the genes for it (yes I was too cowardly to be tested)

And you got to eat a ton of tasty berries in the meantime! Also congrats on getting old :) happy for you.

Just enjoy some news and doom scrolling with your morning cuppa ;)

Kohler can "de-identify [the user’s] data for lawful purposes." I mean exactly how would that ever be justified? "Hey, we see a man-sized log in the bowl. There's only supposed to be women there. The perp must be in that house!!!"

That is very strangely worded, to a degree they I wonder if maybe the wordsmithing was outsourced to either an ai or someone who didn't do English very well. Or if it's meant to be confusing.

But the linked privacy policy talks about making anonymous (aka de-identified) bulk data sets and using them for "lawful business purposes" (aka anything they want that's not illegal).

IP address, device identifier, mother's maiden name, SSN, etc etc

You mean the I-Pee address? Sorry, y'all, I gotta get it out in this thread, it's too easy.

oof, how did I miss that?

> Apple's iOS powered an estimated 4.5% of 735 million smartphones in India by mid-2025, with the rest using Android, Counterpoint Research says.

Sounds like Google should be the one leading the charge against this. Will be interesting to see what they do.

> The app is mainly designed to help users block and track lost or stolen smartphones across all telecom networks, using a central registry.

It's an app. That's all it does now (presumably). Once installed, it can be changed in the future to do all kinds of terrible things. This is big brother.

Even if there were significant challenges in some countries, certainly other countries on this list didn't deserve the 2 week treatment. Lego's actions here are very sketchy.

"We appreciate your understanding, - The BrickLink Team"

Understanding of what? They didn't describe the situation that lead to their decision to unilaterally apply the same treatment to all of these countries.

Corpspeak should be illegal. It so pisses me off that companies always harm your interests while telling you it is to serve you better. Clearly it's not, stop lying.

I don't think it's a new thing - no always has been.jog please - but the older I get the more it seems that the relationship between companies and customers (and especially non-customers in the receiving end of some externality) is really quite a lot more adversarial than the happy-clappy magic market doctrine makes out.

I recently had a home network outage. The last thing I tested was the in-wall wiring because I just didn't think that would be the cause. It was. Wiring fails!

I remember a customer support call where the hardware they bought from us wasn't working. The last question I asked was "are you sure that the outlet it's plugged into is working?"

It wasn't.

That's sort of the joke behind this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nn2FB1P_Mn8

Oh yeah had outages recently. Turned out to be corroded connector to box in the street. Not a wire per-se but close.

It's not lost. People can draw like this today. It's just that nobody wants to pay for it.
