That is a very simplified take. Congress has been locking up for the past decades and is now unable to do useful regulation for the people. Much of it is due to how the funding of candidates works and the feedback loop effect it had on the political culture.
Trump is a symptom of this failure of political culture too.
...A political culture the public has voted for by allowing it to continue despite being bound by a constitutional duty to prevent the same disenfranchisement you've described.
America will be judged by its own demonic standards. The standard by which they justified their participation in the Holocaust of Gaza ("they voted for it").
It's easier if contracts run on the same currency I think, your suppliers price in USD, you sell your products in USD, it's easier for a whole supply chain that way. I can imagine that fracturing or switching to Euro for things like manufacturing and semiconductors.
Trump says a lot of things. There's no reason IMO to think that in this case he would have done differently if he was bribed with the medal up front. I think so because a military operation to unseat the whole leadership of the country would have been very different.
It also has a different committee awarding it - I guess every prize has - but this one is specifically, as designed, decided by a group of parliamentarians selected out of the Norwegian parliament, generally selecting some older ones and trying to represent every party. It's not academics or specialists in the area of peace and diplomacy.
I would say this is the peace prize's fundamental flaw.
Wouldn't this still result in just two paragraph elements? Yes, the first gets auto-closed, but I don't see how a third paragraph could emerge out of this. Surely that closing tag should just get discarded as invalid.
edit: Indeed, it creates three: the </p> seems to create an empty paragraph tag. Not the first time I've been surprised by tag soup rules.
I think that's a missing feature of Typst yes, to have figures be either "here" or "top next page" automatically, with that priority. It can't do that.
The confusing part was that this has nothing to do with the images of this coffee stain package, because they are foreground/background and can be placed freely on the page (any corner or any custom offset from any corner; i.e from top left corner you can use page coordinates).
The coffee stains overlay/underlay text, so no layout problems at all.
Trump is a symptom of this failure of political culture too.
