Should have some basic support within a couple months when I get time... It'll take some work... We have a bunch of things that either need to be built on Windows or [cross-platform] for Windows. It's not a high priority at the moment.
We'll have binaries/exes too, so one doesn't have to install Python.
I think I've seen it done locally, in the USA... "Forest Preserves" cutting down old growth maple/oaks, and piling the massive logs in parking lots until hauled away... I think I've also seen significant "over-pruning" for the sake of the construction of various pathways and "theme parks" for humans.
There are a number of diseases that oaks are susceptible to. In our area, oak wilt is becoming problematic, and as the tree weakens, it becomes host to a variety of beetles whose grub larvae tunnel right into the trunk.
Pulling down sick trees is sometimes the best thing you can do to help the rest.
Could be. I saw more than 30+ massive logs and healthy piths in a back lot of the woods; stacked carefully before being removed; maple and oak. Given the level of local corruption, this forest management deserves the suspicion.
The city and the locality was recently accused of cutting down too many trees for numerous reasons/projects. Unless you are adamant, they are quite aggressive about killing things in parkways.
I think it would be better to leave things where they are in "Forest Preserves"... Maybe one day we'll have [unmanaged] old growth forests again.
I don't think it's egotistical, I would love to ask some questions to my great great grandparents, learn more about our family, what things were like for them back then, and more. I assume (and hope) my descendants would be interested in the same one day.
Re: more realistic AI, I don't know if "good" is the word, fun, easier to chat with? I'd love to have a smarter Alexa-like assistant who I can pop up on a screen or jump into where I am and have a chat with, have her pull up information for me, feel like she's really there working with me or helping out around the house. People love the human side of AIs so it's not just a cold interaction, it was always common for people to say "thank you" to alexa and write in saying they thought it was really nice when she would respond for example. I know I personally like that too. Even for video games it would be awesome to have very realistic NPCs you can interact with, keep embodied in the game.
I'm a casual observer of this community and it's one of the few I usually enjoy reading. I've learned much from your comments --- even from the vitriol of the occasional troll.
We've been working real hard. I didn't want this to be our announcement; here or anywhere. This launch was supposed to be different. If anything, I wanted my first post here to be about our product.
I am a real systems engineer and we build real products with real world application. It's been a stressful 2 years for everyone, it's been an additionally stressful last week for me.
I appreciate any questions and comments, but please understand our situation, and be respectful and patient until I get back to you. Please, let's keep it technical.
