In 5-10 years, you can upgrade the motherboard+processor on a framework, which is much cheaper than a whole new laptop.

Games are made for windows because that's where the device drivers have historically been. Any other viewpoint is ignoring reality.

Eh, what about users? Games are made for windows, because that's where users (= players) are?

That's even more true for mobile and console games.

Sure, keep believing that while loading Proton.

Gladly.

That logo is like concentric rings of power around Galadriel's seer-pool, looking at... Hogwarts?

Supposed to be the Mirror of Galadriel showing Arkham asylum. Just joshing on Palantir Gotham a little bit

"640k ought to be enough for everyone!"

You pull the Ethernet cable out before it finishes. Or your wifi router hiccups

Wouldn’t the download terminate without emitting the script?

They're very annoying all around on YouTube. Hit skip, wait five seconds, hit skip again... and if you don't, there's a several minute ad??!

I see some adverts on YouTube on channels I watch, I just jump ahead (“commonly skipped section” feature). Some I actually enjoy and don’t jump over (map men ones are typically good).

I don’t recognise this “wait 5 seconds” bit.

That bit is for the preroll ad you get without an adblocker.

Free samples or in-store demonstrations like we used to.

That's advertising.

I don't see how one follows the other.

On the one hand, less high earning employees seems to logically indicate that large purchases would also go down.

And on the other hand, a program to give everyone a little eating money would never have been able to pay for a house, anyway.

Barred by who? There is no governing body who can do such a thing, currently. As it is, nothing stops any random person or organization from creating any new format.

And this will land in Chrome how?

The Epstein drives are efficient, but not efficient enough to run for months at a time without stopping, and are thus unusable for interstellar travel. The books go into that when talking about Medina/Behemoth/Nauvoo... The whole reason it had a rotating drum was because the engines would only be active at the start and end of the journey.
