Sure, but that was before European manufacturers started making already-installed seat heating a subscription service, started selling your data - including location - to anyone willing to pay, released EVs which were 5+ years behind Chinese options, and sold them at well over 2x the cost of the alternatives. Oh, and a huge chunk of those "European" brands aren't even European anymore.
Most Europeans happily pay a premium for a well-engineered semi-local product, as we saw with the German manufacturers during the ICE era. But paying significantly more for a significantly worse product, just for that "Made in Europe" label? Not happening.
VW & friends don't even seem to be aware yet that they are in a fight for survival, and that's what is dooming them. They are more interested in lobbying for tariffs and EV rollout slowdowns than in actually building EVs.

Usually, when some system is getting outdated, the system gets replaced or updated to fit the needs. Does this system work for the majority of USA, or not? Do I read it correctly, that the poor people have medicare/medicaid and therefore it's fine for them, the average person has some health insurance and don't mind spending a few thousands of dollars once in a while when his life is in stake?
Regarding the unstable times: Consider living in any year in the past 50 years or so. There are shocks and game-changing events happening subsequently after each of the year you have possibly chosen. Oil crisis here, war there, collapse of some country, technological breakthrough, etc.. Unless you live in countries, where you don't plan for years, but for months or days upfront. Then your life is much more stereotypical, when you just try to survive every day.
I'm not getting it. OP said they are wary of letting the agent make choices for them, and outsourcing those choices lessens their understanding of them. They could interrogate the agent on why those choices were made until they have sufficient understanding, and they can also change the solution if they want to.
You miss the point - by collecting and processing medical data they would fall into a thoroughly regulated industry. Not because they may provide you incorrect data, because they are not allowed to process them.
ZKP is definitely a good idea, definitely more open for this kind of age verification than anything else.
And I don't buy the argument of "closing internet", social networks are a proprietary service and if you don't want to obey with the regulations, create your own website and post things there if you want. However you have to provide your identity to the domain name registry or to the intermediary. Also other services require you to verify your age or even provide your identity, this is just another one that comes way too late.
It is closing Internet. The same companies that produced the ills of social media are now pushing for a non-remedy (that doesn't prevent kids, and doesn't solve the problems they created) that only benefit them and not society. It's just like tobacco: it's toxic and probably overall should be banned because it does not benefit society (or anybody except tobacco executives). Do we make a mandatory nation-wide electronic log of whoever buys tobacco in the name of age verification?

So to not get confused, when you ask for a new laptop in your corporate and you say 14 inch Pro Max, don't get lured to get Pro Max Premium, or even Pro Max Plus, just say you want Pro M5 Max, because otherwise you are getting Dell.
And make sure to not say "Just get me a Pro, bro", because you might be getting HP Pro desktop!
