Ask HN: Advice to non-us resident looking to start a company
1 point by Zenbit_UX on July 6, 2020 | hide | past | favorite
I tried to find some precedent of a Canadian tech company being bought out by FAANG and didn't really find anything.

So as a Canadian (with no ties to the US) looking to start a tech business that may hopefully one day be purchased by one of these giants, would there be any benefit to me using a service like Stripe Atlas to make the company "American" from the start? Or should I just start it in Canada and the border will not be a huge issue later on? Also Stripe seems to think incorporation from the start is the way to go, but as a 2 founder team with no employees or incoming revenue planned for a while an LLC seems tempting. I'd appreciate any advice on the matter!
